Sarah Harman

Sarah is the firm's Senior Partner, having founded the Practice back in 1982.

She is a well known campaigning lawyer who worked for many years in Child Care cases but over recent years has specialised in Medical Negligence claims.

She has a national profile, her clients including Josie Russell, the victims of the Kent & Canterbury smear test blunder and the women sexually abused by Folkestone GP Dr Ayling.

In October 2009 she was featured in a profile in the Guardian about her work in the past with families accused of child abuse and in respect of her present specialist field acting for patients who have suffered due to medical malpractice. (click here)

From 1999 to 2004 she sat as a part-time Recorder, one of only a few female solicitor appointments to have ever been made.

Her career and cases regularly feature in the local and national media. A personal profile of her has appeared in the Times and she was chosen as one of Cosmopolitan's 100 most powerful women! In March 2006 she was featured in Harpers Bazaar as ‘Freedom Fighter’ for her work with families unjustly accused of child abuse.

In 2009, she was listed in The Lawyer Magazine's Top 100 lawyers of 2008 for her work as a campaigner after she achieved success for the patients and families of patients who caught C Diff at the Maidstone Hospital, as well as achieving recognition for her work on the cases of 15 young women who were sexually abused by a nurse at a London anorexia clinic. The article also noted her work in bringing a group action against a surgeon who performed 'botched' cosmetic surgery whilst suspended by the GMC.
